About Rabbit Hole Heigold Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey
Rabbit Hole Distilling, founded by Kaveh Zamanian, produces a beautiful range of award-winning spirits. While their bespoke 24 ft Vendome Copper & Brass still, is being custom-built only a few blocks from their distillery, their Bourbon and Rye whiskeys are 100% Kentucky made, crafted to create a unique drinking experience. They produced their first barrel from their very own mix of carefully selected grains, which are mashed and fermented at ideal temperatures to preserve certain precise flavors and aromas, before being distilled without compromise.
This new whiskey commemorates the rebranding of Rabbit Hole’s core range paying tribute to influential figures in Louisville. This straight bourbon edition captures the spirit of Christian Heigold, a German who immigrated to Louisville in 1850. As a stonecutter Heigold built a mansion in The Point neighborhood of the city, decorating it with patriotic carvings and epigrams, including a bust of President James Buchanan.
Rabbit Hole’s Heigold, a Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey made with a high percentage of imported German malted rye. Distilled from 70% corn, 25% malted rye, and 5% malted barley, aged for just under four years in toasted and charred new oak barrels. Strong and bold, this super-premium bourbon offers initial butterscotch and toasted malt tones before leading into a burst of refreshing citrus notes and finishing with comforting pepper spice.
